** Benefits of Nobile socks **

What’s the difference between Nobile craft socks and regular cotton socks?

The materials we use are different from any other cotton socks on the market, even from other top of the line brands.

These are the benefits from the world’s best cotton and from the sock elastic yarn, which is designed to respect the skin instead of just tightening:

  • Zero elastic stress, as if it weren't there.
  • They stay up without applying pressure, just like magic.
  • Super soft, they do not create blush.
  • Bright colors even after multiple washes.
  • Less smell at the end of the day.
  • They don’t sag during the day.
  • They naturally fit on the leg.
  • Comfortable all day, from morning to night.
  • Thermo-regulated, warm in winter and cool in summer.
  • Composition: 80% pure extra-long staple Filoscozia® cotton yarn, 18% Oeko-Tex® certified nylon, 2% Lycra.

About the composition

At Nobile we take the quality of the composition of our socks very seriously.

Our goal is to offer our customers the best socks on the market. To do this, we only use the best yarns currently available, regardless of their cost, but always giving priority to quality.

Sometimes we hear about 100% cotton socks. It is important to note that brands advertising 100% cotton socks are referring to the fact that the percentage of cotton used to knit the sock is not mixed with other materials. This means that, if a sock is made up of 80% cotton, of that 80% the yarn is 100% cotton and not that the sock is completely made of cotton.

The reason why there need to be elastic materials in the socks is very simple. A sock that is truly 100% cotton or 100% silk is neither comfortable nor durable. The elastic components of the sock are essential so that the natural and delicate fibers, such as cotton, silk or cashmere, do not wear out during use.

It is very likely that even the socks made from your favorite brand are made from a mixed composition with elastic materials, as a 100% cotton or 100% silk or cashmere sock is often purchased by a niche audience due to related allergic problems to certain materials.

A composition that includes materials such as Lycra® and polyamide offers many more benefits than a sock made entirely from natural fibers. First, 100% cotton socks tend to be less comfortable and stiffer than those with a mixed composition. Their rigidity can lead to the formation of tears as early as the second or third use.

Socks with a composition that includes polyamide and Lycra, on the other hand, offer a number of advantages. For example, they guarantee greater resistance and durability over time, as well as better adherence and comfort.

For each pair of Nobile socks, we guarante to use only high quality polyamide and Lycra yarns which are processed according to the highest production standards. These yarns are Oeko-Tex class 1 certified, which means that they meet strict criteria in terms of safety as well as environmental sustainability. Unlike some competitors, who may use lower quality polyamide or Lycra, Nobile yarns can also be used for newborns, due to their delicacy in contact with the skin.

To conclude, it is important not to focus exclusively on the percentage of cotton, silk or other fine yarns, but also to evaluate the quality of the other materials and their characteristics, essential for the creation of excellent products.

Product care

To take the best care of your Filoscozia® socks and preserve their shine, it is advisable to wash them by hand with cold or lukewarm water, or in the washing machine, with cold water. Use delicate and non-aggressive detergents.

Difference among A, B and C

A) Extra-long cotton staples - used for Nobile’s artistically crafted socks. This cotton is super soft, delicate on the skin and extra strong.

B) Medium-long cotton staples - used for regular socks. The softness of the cotton may vary based on the brand. It can have a rough texture.

C) Medium-short cotton staples - used for basic socks. The cotton has little resistance and is really rough.

What do I really pay for when I buy "regular cotton socks"? (Click here for details)

The quality of cotton can vary significantly due to the difference in the length of its organic fibers.

Longer fibers often used by luxury brands, such as those found in Egyptian cotton varieties like Filoscozia®, are highly desirable for their superior strength, softness, and durability.

They result in smoother and more refined fabrics that are less prone to pilling or fraying. In contrast, shorter fibers found in lower-grade cotton can lead to rougher and weaker textiles that may wear out more quickly.

The length of cotton fibers plays a crucial role in determining the overall quality and performance of the fabric, highlighting the importance of choosing cotton products made from high-quality, longer fibers for optimal comfort and longevity.

With our socks, you can enjoy the superior benefits of exceptional comfort, durability, breathability, and overall craftsmanship, avoiding the drawbacks commonly associated with mediocre cotton socks made from poor quality cotton.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order a custom size?

Certainly, among the available sizes it is possible to select the "tailor made" item to request larger or smaller sizes than the predefined ones.

It should be noted that it is only possible to order made-to-measure sizes with a minimum quantity of 6 pairs of socks for each model or pattern.

For example you can order a custom size of 6 or more plain blue socks, or 6 or more burgundy ribbed socks.

Can I customize my socks?

Would you like to wear or gift unique socks? Maybe for your partner or for a special event?

We offer customizations such as the addition of initials or the use of particular colored yarn.

We can also make more advanced customizations such as adding symbols or logos for companies and individuals, or modifying other components of the sock upon request.

Customizations such as adding initials or particular colors require a minimum order quantity of 6 pairs.

Other customizations, such as complex logos or designs or the addition of particular materials may require a higher minimum quantity.

For any customization request, our customer support is available at the WhatsApp number: +39 348 536 2524 or via email at: calzificio@nobileitaly.com.

Where are the socks made?

Our socks are Made in Italy, entirely sewn in Racale, a town based in the south of Italy, known for being "the city of socks" thanks above all to the high skills developed by local craftsmen.

How should the socks be washed?

Our socks are made with the best cotton in the world and are more resistant than socks made by common cotton.

However, to better protect the natural shine properties and durability over time, it is recommended to wash by hand in cold water, with a non-aggressive neutral detergent.

Just leave the socks to soak in cold water with the detergent for less than 15 minutes, then rinse them, squeeze them, "beat" them and hang them out to dry.

The socks do not need to be ironed and can be worn as soon as they are dry. On the leg, they won't show any kind of wrinkles.

What are the shipping times?

After taking charge of your order, it takes about 1-2 working days to process the order and 4-7 working days for shipping and delivery.

Can I ship my order as a gift to someone else's address?

Certainly. At checkout, just enter the other person's name and address.

If it is a gift, remember to enter your email address and not that of the beneficiary, so that it is you who receives order confirmation, shipping and tracking notifications.
